§ Holy week rosters for Readers & Extraordinary Ministers available on table at back of Church.
§ There are new Catholic Truth Society pamphlets in the pamphlet rack.
§ A leaflet explaining ‘Holy Week & Easter’ is available in Church exit wall holder.
§ Easter Edition of Bible Alive is available.
§ March-April Faith Magazine is now available, see especially new shorter articles and columns, e.g. on the Pope’s latest Encyclical by William Oddie, and an experience of pregnancy by Fiorella Nash
Ø At the 12 noon Mass Felicia Tombofa will be inscribed to receive Baptism at the Easter Vigil.
Ø At 4 p.m. GOAN STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be recited in the Church
Ø At the 6:30 p.m. Mass our Y9 Confirmation Candidates will be inscribed.
· Next (Palm) Sunday’s 10:30 am Mass will begin with a procession from the Grotto at 10:15 am animated by young parishioners.
· Good Friday Ecumenical Procession from St Gabriel’s Church,1:30 pm. to St Andrew’s. Our parish will be illustrating The Washing of the Feet. Other local churches will be illustrating other key aspects of the Paschal Mystery.
THIS WEEK
Tuesday: CHURCH CLOSURE from 10:00 am - 1 pm for floor polishing.
Tuesday: Understanding the Mass as the Source and Summit of the Christian Life FINAL TALK & MEDITATION at 7.00pm - 8:00 p.m. 30mins talk in annexe and then move into the Church for 25mins led prayer.
Thursday: PADRE PIO PRAYER GROUP 8pm Annexe, for Mass, Rosary & prayer.
Friday: THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS 7:00pm after Mass, meditations by (former) Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict).
Saturday: SERVERS Practice and reflection for 10:30 an boys teams 10:30 am - 11:30
Saturday:JOURNEY IN FAITH 11:00am Last meeting before Easter: Examination of Conscience. Any wanting to deepen knowledge of faith are welcome.
SERVERS The 10:30 am teams have an hours practice session next Saturday 10:30am.
PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO NATIONAL SHRINE OF WALSINGHAM: Saturday 10th June, leaving 7:30 am prompt. Adults £23, accompanied children £10; includes a hot evening meal, as well as Mass at Slipper chapel, procession along the old ‘Pilgrim’s Way’.
THE YOUTH CLUB has finished for the Easter holidays. Members are invited to be involved in our Palm Sunday 10:30 am Mass (2 weeks today) & the Ecumenical Good Friday 1 pm Procession from St Gabriel’s Church to St Andrew’s. Leaders have feedback meeting this Tuesday at 6 pm.
11-15 YR OLDS: Mon 7th August - Thursday 10th August Parish trip to Faith Summer Break – This is a fruitful, well supervised time of fun (e.g.Games, Swimming sports & Chessington Theme Pk) and faith (e.g. Talks & Prayer) at Woldingham School, Surrey. Forms from Fr. Hugh.
FAITH SUMMER SESSION – Mon 31st July – Friday 4th August Quality talks on “Reasons for Believing, and prayer, in a holiday atmosphere at Woldingham School, Surrey. Fr Hugh is leading a group.
RENTED ACCOMMODATION WANTED Two Parish Youth Workers are looking for digs locally, from Easter. Please call Clergy House.
CAR PARKING IN OUR FORECOURT Could those drivers who are elderly, disabled or their drivers, and who would like to park their car in the forecourt for a Sunday Mass (including the Saturday Vigil) please give their contact details to Clergy House/one of the priests.
SCHOOL VOUCHERS School vouchers from Sainsburys and Tescos are very gratefully received by our local schools, enabling them to purchase computers etc. They can be passed on through Clergy House.
