Week of 10th Spetember 2006

This weekend we welcome Chris Hack among us for a year. He is a new graduate who wants to experience pastoral life from the front line for a year. He is discerning his vocation. You can welcome him outside Church after all Masses today. He will write a bit about himself in next week’s newsletter.

THIS WEEKEND’S SATURDAY EVENINGS MASS will involve participation of our Special Needs Group and of parishioners from Melrose H, John Paul H & Stephen Ho.

This Week:

The MOTHER AND TODDLERS GROUP starts again in October.

Secondary School Transfer- At this time many parents will want to visit prospective new schools for their child’s Sept 07 entry. It can be a nerve-racking process. It can be helpful to read admissions’ criteria, to be realistic and to ask yourself where will your child flourish. Fr Hugh will meet with parents needing his reference: watch this space.

St James’ Catholic High School- All children to be considered for admission to St James’ in Sept 2007 are invited to he school between 6-9pm on Tue 19th Sept.

St Gregory’s School – Open evening on Thurs 21st Sept at 5.30pm.

The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School – Open eve.s 20th or 28th Sept @ 5pm for 1st Form students. For 6th form students open evenings on 5th or 10th Oct @ 6.30pm.
Sacred Heart High School- Open mornings 20th, 27th Sept & 4th Oct from 9.30am to 11.00am. Open evenings will be on 21st & 28th Sept from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES IN THE PARISH

TO GROW IN KNOWLEDGE AND LOVE OF CHRIST IN THE CHURCH

ECHOES comes to Willesden Green. Monthly Saturday afternoons for six months, starts Saturday 30th September.This course which has already benefitted a number of our catechists, and so the young people they serve, through its presentation in Birmingham and at Ealing Abbey. All those involved in helping with any of our groups are extremely welcome to come and get an a deeper overview of our faith and reflect upon how to communicate it. Catechists (who have not done it) are strongly encouraged to come.

JOURNEY IN FAITH Learning the basic teachings and spirituality of the Catholic Faith. A brand new series of talks, prayer and socializing has been organized starting on Saturday 23rd September, 11-12:30 am Church Annexe. We already have a healthy group of non-Christian adults and Catholics coming back to practice of their faith enrolled for this. All welcome.

Fr Hugh’s organizational meetings this week: Mon: 12:30 local non-RC ministers, 5:30 Junior Sch RE coordinator, 7:30 F&P group Tues: 10:15 1st Holy Communion coordinator; 7 p.m. Youth SVP leaders; Thursday 12:30 Polish P.P. Sat 10:30 Journey in Faith leaders.
