Week of 14th January 2007
· This Weekend we will have our annual WHITE FLOWER APPEAL for the Society for the Protection of the unborn child (S.P.U.C.) The Union of Catholic Mothers will be collecting after all Masses. Please be generous in supporting this crucial work.

· It is possible to pick up black and white postcards at the back of the Church to send to the Chinese Embassy to request the release of Chen Guangcheng who has been imprisoned on trumped up charges for campaigning against the forced abortions. For more info. See front of last week’s newsletter or the “Jubilee Action” campaign website justright.org.uk (also to see numerous other fine campaigns)

· Today’s 10:30 am Mass involves the inscription of the children preparing for First Holy Communion.


Confirmation Preparation: First Candidates Meeting: Monday 15th January 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm J&M Infant Convent.

Youth Club starts again this Tuesday.


SEPT 2007 PRIMARY SCHOOL TRANSFER

· All parent parishioners involved in any primary school transfer need to ring Clergy House (between 10 & 2 on a weekday) to arrange a brief January interview.

· All application forms must be submitted to Brent by 9th February including supplementary forms for faith schools.

· Forms for admission to J&M nursery and reception can be collected from school office.


CAROL CONCERT many thanks to all who gave donations at our inspiring Christmas Carol concert towards the upcoming building works at our schools. This raised £262.

CAR PARKING IN CHURCH FORECOURT This is possible for those who have a significant need and write explaining this to Clergy House.

CLERGY HOUSE Office hours are weekdays 10am-2pm. Actual access to main secretarial of-fice is best attempted on Tues.s or Fri.s, or by appointment made at door or by phone. We are v. happy to do any arranged photocopying for parish groups - though please allow a few hours.

NATURAL FERTILITY AWARENESS - launch of Catholic truth Society’s new DVD for teaching 31st Jan 6.00pm-7.30pm Westminster Cathedral Hall.

GOING INTO HOSPITAL. Blue cards to fill in and place in your wallet to increase possibility that you are visited by a priest should you enter hospital unexpectedly.


PARISH AFTERNOON TEA DANCE Sunday 28th January 3 p.m. – 5:30 pm St Mary Magdalen’s Junior School Linacre Rd. Tickets £5 available from weekend, includes full British afternoon tea! Proceeds towards school rebuilding. A fun & friendly afternoon. Pop in if you can!

NEW YOUNG ADULTS GROUP If you are in your twenties (or approaching) come along for something to drink and a chat about forming a social and spiritual forum 7:30 pm on Sunday 29th, i.e. after the evening Mass.
