 Seekers Group: Green A5 sheets(in porch) to give to a non-RC you think might be interested in learning about our faith, in a non-pressurized environment. See “Seekers group” below.

 Harvest Fast Day envelopes (green and white) for money saved on this Friday’s fast Day – in aid of the most vulnerable people in Zimbabwe during their current crisis.

This weekend: Cricklewood Homeless Monthly Collection- non perishable food.

Next weekend: The Schools’ Building fund will be collected next weekend after all Masses.


THIS WEEKEND
Friday is Harvest Fast Day. We are doing an emergency collection of monies saved by fasting on this day for the needy in Zimbabwe where food supplies are running short and a poor harvest is forecast. One in three are expected to be without food by March.

Friday: World Children’s Holy hour with papal Apostolic Blessing 7 pm, Church

Friday: Race Night 8:30 pm at our local RISING SUN pub in aid of the Schools’ Fund. Tickets available today.

Saturday: Seekers Group begins: 2pm for those wanting to learn about Catholicism without any commitment. Clergy Ho for 6 Sat.s. Please take one of the green A5 leaflets from the back to pop through someone’s letterbox.

Saturday: 6:30 Mass will involve our Special Needs group & residents from local homes.


AUTUMN REFLECTION GROUPS using diocesan books reflecting upon the Pope’s recent letter of the Mass will be starting week beginning 14th Oct , for six weeks. Today it is possible to sign up for one particular evening. Green books available from today (see above.

CHILDREN AT NON-RC SCHOOLS who have not received their First Holy Communion, and are in Year 2 (or equivalent) or above need to have parents contact Clergy House.

CHILD PROTECTION: There will be an important information evening for all working with children and vulnerable adults in the parish on Tuesday 13th November at 7pm.


OTHER ONE-OFF EVENTS IN OCTOBER

Sat 13th PARISH DAY PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM cost £21/person (inc. travel, entry to Abbey grounds & a hot meal) U-16 yr olds £10. Please let us know this w/e if interested.

Sun14th NEW PARISHIONERS, especially those who have joined our community in the last two yrs are invited for a coffee after the 10:30 am (i.e. 11:15).

Saturday 27th: EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS, READERS, CATECHISTS, GROUP LEADERS are warmly invited and encouraged to join a specially organized retreat day for our parish leaders with the v. insightful director of Birmingham’s Maryvale Institute on Sat 27th October at Ealing Abbey.

DO YOU KNOW OF ANYONE NEEDING A LITTLE HELP? Some of our older teenagers are prepared to do specific tasks on some Saturday afternoons, such as shopping, lawn-mowing, tidying, reading etc. where such help is really needed. All would be under the direction of Fr Hugh Please apply with full details through Clergy Ho.


GOLDEN THREADS OF THE CATECHISM COURSE: We are pleased to announce a quality course explaining the key strands of our Catholic Faith, here in the parish, third Saturday of the month, 2pm -3:30, open to all, but especially important for those in our parish giving or hoping to give Catechesis. Dates are: 17 Nov; 15 Dec; 19 Jan; 16 Feb; 15 March.


SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFERParents should now phone Clergy Ho. between 10 and 2 on a weekday, for a very brief interview for parent and child. The last interview session will be Tuesday 16th October. This will be the last time Fr Hugh will be available. It will not be possible to sign forms after this date.
