This weekend: The Schools’ Building fund will be collected after all Masses.

We are also collecting in the green Harvest fast day envelopes, in aid of Zimbabwean people.

Next weekend: annual collection for the Catholic Children’s Society see poster at the back


AT THE BACK
 Blue Cards for signing up for “Sharing his Life” reflection groups

 “Sharing His Life” diocesan reflection books – green&white for daily reflection starting 14th Oct, and for use in reflection groups. Price £1 (see below) from newspaper rack.

 Harvest Fast Day envelopes (green and white) for money saved on this Friday’s fast Day – in aid of the most vulnerable people in Zimbabwe during their current crisis.

NEXT WEEKEND
Sat 13th PARISH DAY PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM Coach leaves 7:30 am sharp. There is an envelope at the back for those who have signed up with the programme on. Places still available. Fr Hugh is leading this. Cost £21/person (inc. travel, entry to Abbey grounds & a hot meal) U-16 yr olds £10. Please let us know this w/e.
Sun14th NEW PARISHIONERS, especially those who have joined our community in the last two yrs are invited for a coffee after the 10:30 am (i.e. 11:15) – see front.


MORNING PRAYER is happening in church:Mon.s,Tue.s, Thurs, Fri.s 7:45 am, Sat&Sun 8:15

AUTUMN REFLECTION GROUPS using diocesan books reflecting upon the Pope’s recent letter of the Mass will be starting NEXT week (beginning 14th Oct) , for six weeks. Today it is still possible to sign up for one particular evening. Green books available (see above).

POST-CONFIRMATION YOUTH GROUP (Y9-13) No meeting next wk, - (come to Walsingham for £10 with Fr H&Martin, see above) Sat 20th October will be a social, relaxing at the Infant convent chapel in Park Ave. 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 pm ish. Lifts home available.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS, READERS, CATECHISTS, GROUP LEADERS are warmly invited and encouraged to join a specially organized retreat day for our parish leaders with the v. insightful director of Birmingham’s Maryvale Institute on Sat 27th October at Ealing Abbey.

FLOWER ARRANGING: would anyone like to help Zeny, who arranges the church flowers on a bi-weekly basis? Please inform Clergy Ho. Some training available.

CHILD PROTECTION: There will be an important information evening for all working with children and vulnerable adults in the parish on Tuesday 13th November at 7pm.

DO YOU KNOW OF ANYONE NEEDING A LITTLE HELP? Some of our older teenagers are prepared to do specific tasks on some Saturday afternoons, such as shopping, lawn-mowing, tidying, reading etc. where such help is really needed. All would be under the direction of Fr Hugh Please apply with full details through Clergy Ho.

PARISH CATECHISM COURSE: We are pleased to announce a quality “Five Golden Threads” course explaining the key strands of our Catholic Faith, here in the parish, third Saturday of the month, 2pm -3:30, open to all, but especially important for those in our parish giving or hoping to give Catechesis. Dates are: 17 Nov; 15 Dec; 19 Jan; 16 Feb; 15 March.

SECONDARY SCHOOL TRANSFER
Parents should now phone Clergy Ho. THIS WEEK between 10 and 2 on a weekday, for a very brief interview for parent and child. The last interview session will be Tuesday 16th October. This will be the last time Fr Hugh will be available. It will not be possible to sign forms after this.
