After Mass today:
• Schools Building Fund- We take up our monthly Schools’ Building fund collection next weekend after all Masses.
• There are Confessions after every Mass.
• Mothers’ Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter cards & Lenten books in the repository.



THIS WEEK
Tuesday: WHO DID YOU PRAY FOR IN THE LEAD-UP TO OUR MISSION? Maybe you could invite them to pop into one or all of the four evenings of our SEEKERS GROUP which holds it’s 2nd evening this Tuesday. It is for those, especially non-Catholics, interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, without any commitment.


Thursday: MEDITATIVE EVENING: Thurs. 6th March. 7.30pm, St Agnes RC Church, Cricklewood. Flute music with Charlotte Hall (Flute) Helen Leith (piano), songs with Brian Mcloone (piano) and the Wilson Girls (singers), texts with Michelle Byrne (reader), plus cup of tea and biscuits. All welcome. Proceeds to Rwandan earthquake victims.

Thursday: CONTRACEPTION: WHY NOT? By Professor Janet Smith, top American Speaker. Thurs 6th Mar 7pm-9pm. £5 registration. Tel: 020.7931.6064 Westminster Cathedral.Tapes of an earlier talk she gave on the same title are available from the repository Price £3


Friday: Auction & Disco Night on 7th March at the Corrib Rest, Salisbury Rd, Queens Pk, 7.30pm Tickets £5, in advance from the St MM Junior school, or on the night. Organized by The Friends. Lots of fun guaranteed. Great fundraiser for the school. All welcome. Please contact the school office if you have something you would like to donate.

 Our Popular “In Search of a still and peaceful mind” Group meets next Thursday 13th March, 8 pm Annexe. – followed by Wednesday 2nd April, Thursday 24th April

 The Parish “Green Theme” Dinner & Dance will be held on Sat 29th March at St Mary Magdalen’s School, Linacre Road. Tickets for this event at £10 adults, £5 children, will be on sale following all Masses for the next two weeks. This has been a fun evening in the past. Please support this social event.

 Marriage Prep course begins 3rd April

 10.30 Mass:Children reading & bringing up offertory. If you would like your child to do this,& they are not currently doing so regularly,please give name&contact details to Clergy Ho.

 Cleaning of Altar Servers Albs- it would be greatly appreciated if these could be cleaned and ironed prior to the lead up to the Easter celebrations. In the past the Servers’ mothers have helped out with this and perhaps they would oblige once more. Thank you.

Easter Rotas for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy communion & Readers available at the back of the Church and Ministers & Readers are asked to sign up to whichever service they will be attending. Copies of the completed forms will be posted to all involved.

St Patrick’s Day- due to the 17th March falling in Holy Week, the Feast of St Patrick will be celebrated on Fri 14th March. Masses will be 9.30 am,12 noon and 7pm. Due to steeply escala-ting prices, shamrock has become very difficult to obtain. We are still trying. Any ideas welcome!

FAMILY FAST DAY made £856 towards the Rwandan Orphans. Thank you very much for you great generosity at this time of need, and to our Thursday reflection group for organizing this – and ensuring the money gets right to the right place.

After Mass today:
• There will be an appeal on behalf of the Association for the Propagation of the Faith, which supports missionary work. This will be to encourage people to support the work through taking a red box into their home.
• Sunday evening’s mass will include the enrolment of our Y9 confirmation candidates
• There are Confessions after every Mass.
• Sinhalese Mass at 5:00pm Sunday
• Mothers’ Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter cards & Lenten books in the repository.

White Family Fast Day envelopes can be given in today, in the collection or to one of the priests, in aid of the Rwandan Children (with which our Thursday reflection group has a big link) desperately in need following the recent earthquake

This Sunday we will take up our Cricklewood Homeless collection of non-perishable foodstuffs

Are our society and our Church and our families better now than before the 60’s? Are we closer to God?

Catholic Children’s Society Coffee Morning- fundraising from last weekend raised £135.64. Many thanks to all for their support.

The family of the late Margaret Normoyle of Peter Avenue would like to thank all who attended the funeral, sent mass cards & flowers. A Mass will be offered for their intentions.

First Sunday of Lent 2008
After Mass today:
• There are Confessions after every Mass.
• “Who is My Neighbour” diocesan daily meditation and group reflection booklets for Lent at back.
• It is still possible to sign up on the green cards in benches for our TUESDAY Lenten Reflection Groups. The Tuesday night group will not start until 19th February due to PIA group opposite (to which all are welcome).
• The Lenten Bible Alive and My Day by Day are on newspaper rack.
• Mother’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter cards & Lenten books on sale in the repository.
• Catholic children’s Fund Raising Coffee/ tea morning- refreshments served after all Masses.

TODAY

It is necessary to make a public (see below) or private veneration of one of these images praying for the Pope’s intentions and go to Confession and Communion within next ten days (i.e. up to 12th).

• Children’s liturgy at the 10:30 am Mass. This is for reception children upwards.
• It is possible to sign up on the green cards in benches for our Lenten Reflection Groups, that meet on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, once a week during Lent to share, discuss & pray on aspects of Catholic Faith & Action
• It is possible to sign the petition at the back of Church concerning the HUMAN FERTILISATION AND EMBRYOLOGY BILL now going through Parliament
Meeting 7.00pm on Weds 6th Feb in Central Hall Westminster.

The Blessing of Throats in honour of St Blaise will be done tomorrow Monday 4th, after the 9:30 am Mass (which is a funeral, i.e. about 10:15)

Next Saturday (9th): Video of Song of Bernadette film (a “classic” film) on a large screen in the Annexe: to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the appearance of Our Lady of Lourdes, 7:30pm with a 10 min interval at 8:50pm – 9:00. Finish at 10:15.

LENT
ASH WEDNESDAY is this Wednesday. For able-bodied adults it is a day of fasting (at most one main meal & two snacks) and abstinence (no meat).
Masses will be celebrated at 9.30am, 12noon and 7pm, and ashes will be blessed & distributed. Please note Ashes can only be distributed at Mass, not at any other time.

Each Fri. evening there will be a Reflection Hour, 7-8 organized by the following groups
