Second Sunday of Lent 2008
After Mass today:
• After morning Masses: Coffee/Tea in the Annexe, in aid of Catholic Children’s Society.
• There are Confessions after every Mass.
• “Who is My Neighbour” diocesan daily meditation and group reflection booklets for Lent at back.
• Mothers’ Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter cards & Lenten books on sale in the repository.
NEXT SUNDAY: there will be an appeal on behalf of the Association for the Propagation of the Faith, which supports missionary work. This will be to encourage people to support the work through taking a red box into their home.

Each Fri. evening: Reflection Hour, 7-8 supported by the following groups 22nd Feb PIA; 29th Feb Thursday reflection group, 7th March Children’s retreat and Y7/Y8 Youth Club, 14th March Prayer Group.

SEEKERS GROUP For those, especially non-Catholics, interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, without any commitment, for four Tues eve.s from 26th Feb.
LENTEN RETREAT: By Fr Paul Watson, highly regarded director of Maryvale Institue, who led our successful catechists retreat last Autumn Ealing Abbey next Sat 23rd Feb 10-4pm.

Meditative flute music with Charlotte Hall (Flute) Helen Leith (piano), songs with Brian Mcloone (piano) and the Wilson Girls (singers) and texts with Michelle Byrne (reader), followed by a cup of tea and biscuits in the presbytery. All are welcome. Proceeds go towards the victims of the recent earthquake in Rwanda."

It is 40 yrs since Humanae Vitae, the Papal Letter confirming Christian teaching on this issue and predicting that the Pill would bring familial and social degradation. It has been rejected and ignored as somewhat irrelevant by most outside, and perhaps even inside the Church. Are our society and our Church and our families better now than before the 60’s? Are we holier? 6th March at the Cathedral. An evening to change a life and save a society.
