TODAY
Image of Our Lady of Lourdes at front of Church and/or in our Grotto may now be venerated to gain the Plenary Indulgence (as explained in last week’s newsletter –see www.stmarymag.org.uk). It is necessary to make a public (see below) or private veneration of one of these images praying for the Pope’s intentions and go to Confession and Communion within next ten days (i.e. up to 12th).
• We take up our monthly Schools’ Building fund collection.
• Children’s liturgy at the 10:30 am Mass. This is for reception children upwards.
• It is possible to sign up on the green cards in benches for our Lenten Reflection Groups, that meet on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening, once a week during Lent to share, discuss & pray on aspects of Catholic Faith & Action
• It is possible to sign the petition at the back of Church concerning the HUMAN FERTILISATION AND EMBRYOLOGY BILL now going through Parliament
Meeting 7.00pm on Weds 6th Feb in Central Hall Westminster.
• The Lenten Bible Alive and My Day by Day are on newspaper rack.
• Faith Magazine- January-February: William Oddie on the influx of Polish Catholics; interview with the Ealing Abbey Catechetical coordinator; a Muslim on Love of God
The Blessing of Throats in honour of St Blaise will be done tomorrow Monday 4th, after the 9:30 am Mass (which is a funeral, i.e. about 10:15)
Next Saturday (9th): Video of Song of Bernadette film (a “classic” film) on a large screen in the Annexe: to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the appearance of Our Lady of Lourdes, 7:30pm with a 10 min interval at 8:50pm – 9:00. Finish at 10:15.
NEXT Sunday (10th) 3:00 pm
Parish Act of Veneration at our Shrine: to obtain the special Plenary Indulgence for the 150th anniversary of the apparition of Our Lad of Lourdes.
There will be confessions after every Mass on this Sunday
Rite of Election: Those receiving a Sacrament of Initiation this Easter will be going to the Cathedral, for the Rite of Election. Leaving tube station at 2pm
Oremus pro Invicem (Let us pray for each other)
PIA, Pray, Inform, Act pro-life group meeting. Tuesday 12th February, 7:30 pm, Annexe. There will be an excellent speaker from LIFE
Volunteer needed- wheelchair user needs lift to mass each Sun. Contact Clergy Ho

ASH WEDNESDAY is this Wednesday. For able-bodied adults it is a day of fasting (at most one main meal & two snacks) and abstinence (no meat).
Masses will be celebrated at 9.30am, 12noon and 7pm, and ashes will be blessed & distributed. Please note Ashes can only be distributed at Mass, not at any other time.
Each Fri. evening there will be a Reflection Hour, 7-8 organized by the following groups
8th Feb Post-Confirmation group; 15th Feb Bethany, 22nd Feb PIA -- Patti T. 29th Feb Thursday reflection group, 7th March Children’s retreat and Y7/Y8 Youth Club, 14th March Prayer Group
There will be confessions after every Sunday Mass
