HAVE YOU PRAYER FOR YOUR PRIEST TODAY? This is the question the diocese is asking us to ask for this Year of Priesthood called for by Pope Benedict, which we are now in the middle of. Sounds good to me! See poster in porch.
SUNDAY MASS
• We have always been lucky here to have so many coming to Sunday Mass (which includes
Sat 6:30) to centre their life upon Christ (this is an obligation laid upon us by the Creator
through the Church).
• We speak to Him before Mass, He speaks to us during Mass, we speak to each other after
Mass (after our thanksgiving, outside or in the Annexe).
• The Gospel which is solemnly read at Sunday Mass is on the back of this newsletter.
• Please do not use mobile phones during Mass–which includes checking for texts in one’s bag!
• We are always very pleased to have many young families amongst us. Lively participation is a
good sign, and not easily controlled, but if it’s becoming a bit noisy the Annexe is usually open
during Mass which can be heard there through a loud speaker. There are children’s books
in the shelves there.
NEW STATUE OF PADRE PIO --- SEE BACK ON RIGHT HAND ISLE
St. Pio of Pietrelcina (May 25, 1887 – September 23, 1968), also known as Saint Padre Pio, or simply Padre Pio, was a Capuchin priest from Italy, recently declared a Saint by Pope John Paul II. He was born Francesco, and given the name Pio when he joined the Capuchins; he was popularly known as Padre Pio after his ordination to the priesthood. He became famous for his stigmata, and for his supernatural insight in the Confessional.
