Latest Faith Mag available. Very well received editorial entitled “The London Debate: Why we lost and what we must learn” about a big event where our faith came off v badly.

TEAMS OF OUR LADY – SUPPORTING MARRIED COUPLES Thurs 25th February Clergy Ho
A monthly meeting with a light meal (provided by between the three and six couples in the group), offering reflective and prayerful support. Cf.: www.teamsofourlady.org.uk To start with we are looking at getting a group together of newly married and/or those with youngish children. There’s a no commitment 50 minute introductory meeting at Clergy Ho 25th 7:30 pm.

PARISH CONCERT- here in the Church “Cloths of Heaven” Friday 30th April, 7:30 pm

FAITH CONFERENCES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE Fr Hugh will be leading groups. Quality talks in a quality holiday atmosphere at Woldingham School, Surrey. These really are worthwhile times. It would be great if parents of potential attendees could organize holidays around these dates.

PARISH DINNER-DANCE Thank you to all who attended. We are hoping this will become an established event. Total Profit was £1015.90 towards replacing Clergy House central heating

LENT
ASH WEDNESDAY is this Wednesday. For able-bodied adults it is a day of fasting (at most one main meal & two snacks) and abstinence (no meat).

Masses will be celebrated at 9.30am, 12noon and 7pm, and ashes will be blessed & distributed. Please note Ashes can only be distributed at Mass, not at any other time.

 Each Fri. evening there will be Stations of the Cross 7pm.

The diocesan St John Southworth Fund assists homeless, migrants and refugees, youth education, disability support, pastoral support for the elderly, children and various other projects.

 FAMILY FAST DAY, Friday 26th Feb. will be in aid of Aid to the Church in Need. More information to come.

 THIS Sunday (tonight) 7:20 pm : TAKING THE PLEDGE
If you would like to give up alcohol for Lent in a way that links you with a group of people in solidarity with and in prayer for those who suffer from alcohol or drug addition and other abuses of the body, then join Fr Hugh / Fr Kieran and others on Sunday evening at 7.30pm in the Church for 20 mins to take the Pioneers’ Lenten Pledge. This is a commitment to abstain from all intoxicating drink, to recite a daily prayer, to wear the pioneer emblem.


DEANERY FORTY HOURS DEVOTION for ‘Year of the Priest’: updated times
Our own participation in this 40 hours will be eight hours on Thursday 25th February, for until 6 pm, with Vespers at 5:45 pm. It will possible to sign up for a half hour’s ‘watching’, we need every hour covered with two people. The whole deanery 40 hrs timetable is below.
