After all Masses this weekend there will be a short witness from one of our Neo-Catechumenal Way guests from Italy in preparation for the Papal Visit next weekend.

The Catholic Children’s Society Annual Collection will be next weekend after all Masses.

Repository- There is a large selection of items to commemorate the Papal Visit including rosary beads & prayer books now on sale.

Children’s Liturgy during 10:30 Sunday Mass
There will be a meeting in Clergy House on Monday 13th Sept at 7:30pm for all those involved in the 10:30 Children’s Liturgy (plus any who would like to get involved) to agree rotas and format of the session.

Year 5/6 Youth Club forms (yellow) will be available this weekend at the back of church for all new members. This club will commence on Thursday 23rd September.
Year 7/8 Club will recommence on Friday 1st October. Meeting for leaders Thursday 23rd September 8 pm

In-depth study of the Gospel of St Matthew will be held on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm -8.30ish. Starting on 21st September for 24 weeks to 12th April. THIS WAS VERY WELL RECEIVED BY PARTICIPANTS LAST YEAR. The group will be led by Deacon Michael Jarmulowicz using the “ Matthew: The King and His Kingdom” study guide published by Ascension Press. All are welcome. See posters / leaflets at the back of church.

PAPAL VISIT: The Pope’s full programme is on white A4 sheets in the porch. These sheets also have information about viewing all of the events LIVE on EWTN. They can also be viewed LIVE online thorough “The Visit” website. ALSO the beatification Mass can be viewed live on a large screen in the Junior School, Linacre Rd, next Sunday 9:30 am. This will not fulfil our “Sunday obligation”! The 9:00 am Mass here will be short.

GETTING INTO PAPAL EVENTS – Pilgrim packs for those whose names went in before the main deadline are NOW available for collection from the flower sacristy. Other packs should be available on the day itself!.

HYDE PARK: We have 150 booked. We are still getting requests and there seems to be a small chance of getting some extra tickets.
We are planning to meet here at Church at 1:15 pm or, if you prefer at 2:30 pm at the Green Park entrance on Piccadilly, to the left of the Green Park tube station as you come out. The Jubilee line will be operating from West Hampstead, not from Willesden Gn – so take a bus to there, or the 52 to Hyde Park corner and walk along Piccadilly to the park entrance on your right. At Green Park we will give out tickets etc.

The doors to the Hyde Park event area are expected to open around midday. The Pope is expected to arrive at 6 pm, with the event finishing at 8pm. If you wish to get into Hyde Park at an earlier time please pick up your ticket etc from Clergy House during the morning. Remember to consider bringing a portable seat as there are none available there – and see below.

The Ministry of Defence is responsible for the security at the various papal events and have informed us that:

1. Every pilgrim attending one of the papal visit events (Beatification in Birmingham or Hyde Park) MUST have a photo ID (Passport, Bus pass etc.

2. Every Pilgrim MUST know the name of their pilgrim leader. For the beatification in Birmingham this will be Deacon Michael Jarmulowicz; for the Hyde Park event it is Fr Hugh MacKenzie.

3. Every pilgrim will be issued with a Pilgrim Pack, a Pilgrim Pass (Paper ticket) and Pilgrim band (Rubber wristband). The passes and wristbands will be colour coded and numbered.

4. The wristbands and tickets WILL BE ISSUED ON THE DAY; this will be on the coach to Birmingham or at the agreed meeting point for Hyde Park. We have been told that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES can the passes and wristbands be given out before the day
