Eighth Sunday of the Year A 27th February 2011
TODAY
• It is possible to sponsor Tony Thomas, after all Masses this morning, in aid of sending some of our young people on the Papal World Youth Day in Madrid, August,. He will briefly explain after Masses today.
• Crick. Homeless Concern: Collection of non perishable goods in porch box.
• TODAY Sinhalese Mass at 5.00pm.

• The LAST Magdala (in its current format) is now on sale. Many thanks to Kathy Macken for having edited so well 100 issues – publishing material always encouraging & positive, and reporting on virtually all major parish & diocesan events
• Magdala questionnaire – please fill in green A5 sheet today, with thoughts about what what content in a future magazine you would be interested to see. Please leave in plastic baskets at back.
• The latest Faith mag (on Problem of Evil, the soul. The marital act, etc), Bible Alive, My Day by Day and Messenger magazines are on newspaper rack
• After the Papal Visit – see glossy A4 leaflets “Some definite service” in porch.

THIS WEEK
• We are currently organising this year’s Family Feast Day – meeting this Tuesday 6:30 pm - to take place on a July Sunday for the feast of St Mary Magdalen’s. This will involve 12.00pm Mass held in Willesden Sports stadium, followed by games, and a fun walk/run. Anyone with any ideas or suggestions, or if you would like to help out at this planning stage, contact John O’Sullivan 07958 524761, Tony Thomas or Fr Hugh in the presbytery.
• Bible Study please note that for this week only the Bible Study group will meet on Wednesday instead of Tuesday
• The Wednesday Club- Kings Hall Harlesen Rd 3 mins walk from Church – meet every Wednesday at 1.30pm – tea, bingo, chat new members – male or female – welcome
• Friday Catholic Children’s Society: Coffee morning and raffle – Annexe
• Friday 7 pm Holy Hour for intentions of the parish

NEXT SUNDAY
• School Building Fund: Monthly collection at all masses next weekend.
• Sat 6:30 pm: The popular Voices Inspired will sing
• 10:30 Mass: The Rite of Signing, when our six Catechumens will be formally sent by our parish to meet the Archbishop for the Rite of Election in Westminster Cathedral on Sat 12th March, as they make their final preparations to be received into the Church at Easter.
• 6:30 pm Mass our confirmation candidates will be celebrating the rite of commitment as they continue to prepare for their confirmation in June.

TAKING THE PLEDGE FOR LENT? Non-Pioneers are invited to take the short-term pledge for the duration of Lent. Conditions for the enrolment are: (i) to abstain from all intoxicating drink; (ii) to recite the prayer daily; (iii) to wear the pioneer emblem.
