First Sunday in Lent Year A 13th March 2011
TODAY
• All sermons will be introducing the diocesan initiative “Praying the Mass” in preparation for the introduction of the new translation of the Mass this September
• Please take home and read the white A5 booklet “Praying the Mass I”
• World Youth Day fundraising – cake sale will be held after this Sunday Morning Masses in the Annexe – organised by our post confirmation youth group.
• Also-Tony Thomas will be collecting from those who kindly sponsored his run after all Masses this weekend.
• New Rotas for Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion are ready for collection in sacristy
• Redish Planned Giving leaflets for those wishing to join our envelope scheme are in the porch.

Next Sunday there will be a Konkani service at 4 pm in the Church

Masses 9:30am (with Gaelic readings & music) 12.00 noon & 7.00pm.
BRENT CELEBRATIONS: 3:15 – 7:30 Library (starting at Tube Station)

LENT
Talk here on Cardinal Newman: Friday 25th March at 7.30pm, annexe. Dr Andrew Nash will give a beautifully illustrated talk on the life of John Henry Newman, whom Pope Benedict beatified in Birmingham last September. Everybody welcome. Afterwards there will be coffee and cake. £3 donation, with funds going to the work of the Maryvale Institute, which has helped the catechesis of our parish very much.

 Each Fri. evening there will be Stations of the Cross 7pm.
 LENTEN ALMS (see box on wall opposite Lady Altar)- monies go towards:
-- The diocesan St John Southworth Fund assists homeless, migrants and refugees, youth education, disability support, pastoral support for the elderly, children and various other projects
-- And Friends of the Holy Land - to provide spiritual, moral & financial support for the suffering Christian Community in the Holy Land cf.www.friendsoftheholyland.org.uk

Mind the Gap: Lenten Film nights for Young Adults
