5th Sunday of Lent 10th April 2011
TODAY

• Post Confirmation Youth Group are holding a sale of second hand books after all morning Masses in the Annexe – in aid of their World Youth Day fundraising.

• White A5 “Praying the Mass – part 2” leaflets are avaialbe in preparation for the new translation of the Mass which will be implemented this September.

• Planned Giving: New boxes of envelopes are now available at the back of the Church. If you are not already party to the planned giving programme and wish to do so, please hand in your contact details to Clergy House.

• 10:30 am Mass includes Inscription for the reception of First Holy Communion - 65 children.

• The 12noon Mass will involve the third scrutiny of the eight people becoming Catholics at the Easter Vigil in two weeks time – six of which are also becoming Christians, that is being baptised.


• Blue “confession” leaflets are in the porch wall holders. They contain a couple of good examination of consciences, which are very helpful in preparing for to make our confession. The Church strongly recommends that Catholic “confess their sins once a year”, especially during Lent.


NEXT SUNDAY
Tickets for Willesden Green Pioneers annual dance 6tth May at St Mary and St Andrew’s Social Club, Dollis Hill Lane NW2 6EH - t £5. each will be on sale after all masses. Proceeds in aid of St Mary Magdalen Special Needs Group.
Post-Confirmation Youth group will be going off on a two-day retreat – please pray for them.


LENTEN ALMS (see box on wall opposite Lady Altar)- monies go towards:
- The diocesan St John Southworth Fund assists homeless, migrants and refugees, elderly & young.

- Friends of the Holy Land - to provide support suffering Christians: www.friendsoftheholyland.org.uk.

● Cake and Wine evening to mark the beatification of Pope John Paul II, (& the Royal Wedding) there will be a screening of the film 'John Paul II: The Movie' on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May at 7pm in the annexe. See front of newsletter. This film charts the life of the late pope from his youth in Poland until his moving final days. £3 donation, including wine (we’ll toast the Royal Couple), coffee & cakes, with proceeds going to the Maryvale Institute.

TODAY

• School Building Fund: This weekend, we take up the final monthly collection. Those parishioners who have been giving envelopes will see that this is the last envelope. Those giving by direct debit should advise their banks to cease payments after April payment. Thank you so much for your continued support for this project which greatly benefits our children.

• Family Fast Day White envelopes can be given in (in collection or to Clergy House) for donations towards Sri Lanka school for poor children.

This Thursday the Junior School and Infant Convent will come in for a 2 pm Mass in hour of St Claudine the founder of the Jesus and Mary Sisters.


The Year 7/8 Youth Club has finished for this term. It will begin again after Easter.
