Faith Matters Lent 2012: Confident and Catholic: Exploring a Vision for the Church in Our Land This series of lectures is to address some of the Church’s key priorities, aims and objectives currently identified by our bishops in their document A Vision for the Church in Our Land. The bishops hope that these priorities will serve to make us more confidently Catholic in our proclamation of the truth of the Gospel and our engagement in society at large.

Lenten Prayer Guiding Programme: This Lent we will be running a period of guided prayer for young adults. This is an opportunity for young adults to deepen their relationship with Christ with support from a prayer guide. After an initial gathering, where they will meet their guide and learn more about the accompanying relationship, they will meet the guide once a week for the five full weeks of Lent. The guide will help the young people explore prayer and journey with them as they learn more about themselves and their relationship with God. It is hoped these individual meetings will be run across the diocese. There are a limited number of places available, so contact Sr Emma Nolan at Vaughan House for more information or to book a place. emmanolan@rcdow.org.uk (Cost £10-£30).
Dublin Eucharistic Congress (10-17 June): Archbishop Vincent Nichols will be leading a pilgrimage from Westminster diocese to the International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin from the Wednesday evening (13 June) till the Sunday (flying back on Monday 18 June). 60 places have been booked on this pilgrimage. As well as the daily celebration of Mass, there will be talks each day by internationally known speakers, and a great variety of workshops on themes connected with the Eucharist. Details can be found on a flyer which is available at the back of Church.. Also - Young adults are encouraged to be part of the Westminster group at the Eucharistic Congress . Diocesan Young Adult Retreat/Pilgrimage: We are organising a retreat/pilgrimage to Rome in September. Full details have yet to be confirmed, but it will take place 14th to 19th September and is likely to cost between £550 and £600. The itinerary is yet to be planned, but the time will include input, periods of silence and communal prayer, discussion, community building and a visit to Rome. A real opportunity to take some time to pray and think about God in a centre of our faith. At this point we’re hoping to assess the level of interest. Laundry Assistant- Allen Hall Seminary: A reliable person is required to undertake laundry and domestic duties at Allen Hall Seminary, based in Chelsea. Duties will include undertaking the house laundry including the personal laundry of the resident priests. S/he will also need to cover the hours of the domestic staff when they are on leave and at these times will be responsible for general cleaning of the reception area, other communal areas, bathrooms and kitchenettes.
