First Holy Communion programme. Now that the children have completed their preparation for the sacrament of reconciliation, we remind you that the children must make their First Confession prior to receiving their First Communion in May. Indeed, it is a requirement that all of us celebrate this sacrament at least once a year. Confessions are heard on a Saturday between 10.30 and 11.00 and 5.30 and 6.15 or by arrangement with Fr Kevin.

Children and Lent. If you wish to help your children understand the meaning of Lent more fully there is excellent material available at www.missiontogether.org.uk.

Altar Rails As you will know, the original altar rails and sanctuary gates given in memory of Michael and Caroline Fitzgerald were truncated and removed respectively when the sanctuary was reordered. In the past few weeks our pastoral centre at London Colney has closed and all the furniture and church fittings were offered to parishes around the diocese. I asked for some altar rails and was successful in my application. As you can see they are almost the precise height, width and length that we need and fit in well with the existing structures. Now that they run full length of the sanctuary step I hope those of you who kneel for Holy Communion will find it easier to do so and I remind everyone that you may receive either kneeling or standing, on the tongue or in the hand. But be careful, they are not fixed to the floor yet!

Konkanni Prayer and Mass will be held at English Martyrs Church Chalk Hill Rd Wembley Park (beside Lidl) on 25th March 2012 at 12.40pm. All are welcome.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes. 8th to 12th May - £470 includes transport, full board at Alba Hotel and trips to Bartres and San Pierre – contact John O’Sullivan 020 8459 0279
