Parish News Last week’s collection was £2067.94 Thank you. The family of the late Freda Johnston would like to thank all who gave so generously to the British Heart Foundation in lieu of flowers and raised £200. Work Experience Scheme. Could your workplace offer a day’s work experience for a local student from Newman Catholic College? Sarah Teather MP is working with the school to help set up the new scheme. Please contact omar.deedat@parliament.uk if you are interested in this really worthwhile scheme. Journey in Faith. This has now started, but it is still not too late to join the group if you know of anyone interested in becoming a Catholic, or if you are an adult who has not yet been confirmed? We meet on Saturday mornings at 10:30am. Weekly Catechesis Leaflets. As part of our ‘Year of Faith’ we will be publishing weekly leaflets on a particular aspect of our faith. Keep these and they will build up into a ‘mini-catechism’ of 60 leaflets. Secondary School Transfers 2013. Fr Kevin will be signing school forms from 18th to 22nd October. Please call the office to schedule an appointment. Dates have not yet been set for appointments for primary school transfers. A message from Tony Thomas. Dear all at St Mary Magdalen’s. I can hardly believe it is over a year since I left you all after a wonderful time working in the parish! As some of you know, I’m just starting my second year of formation for the priesthood at Allen Hall in Chelsea. On Sunday 25th November we have an “adoration afternoon” here to which I’d like to invite a group from Willesden Green. It will include refreshments, a tour of the seminary, and a period of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament including sung Vespers and Benediction. There are 25 places which will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please leave your details with the parish secretary if you would like to come. St Mary Magdalen Wednesday Club. There are places available for the Christmas Special Trip to “Mickey’s Variety Club”, Wood Green, on Thursday 29th November. £25 inclusive of meal and coach. A course in the Catechism of the Catholic Church will be given by Fr Michael Quaicoe on Mondays from 15th October to 19th November, 7:30-8:30pm, at Westminster Cathedral. All are welcome. These are public lectures which take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm commencing on the 30th October, in Westminster Cathedral Hall. Registration is required to guarantee a place. A pilgrimage of the Black Madonna of Czestochowa across Europe.
