Parish News Last week’s collection was £2067.94 Thank you. The family of the late Jane Tobin of Melrose Avenue would like to thank all those who kindly attended the funeral service, and sent Mass cards and messages of support. The Holy sacrifice of the Mass is being offered for their intentions. Weekly Catechesis Leaflets. Leaflet 3 of our ‘Year of Faith’ catechesis leaflets, on the existence of God, is published this week. Keep these and they will build up into a ‘mini-catechism’ of 60 leaflets. Secondary School Transfers 2013. Fr Kevin will finish signing school forms on 22nd October (i.e. Monday). If you haven't done so already you need to call the office to schedule an appointment. Dates have not yet been set for appointments for primary school transfers. UCM Mass takes place on Wednesday 24th October at 7.30pm followed by a meeting in the Annexe. CTS ‘Year of Faith’ Stall. Next Sunday (28th October) the CTS (Catholic Truth Society) will have a stall in the Annexe at the three morning Masses, selling books and pamphlets that will help us deepen our faith in this ‘Year of Faith’. Please do pay them a visit on your way out of Mass, or come early and visit before Mass, and see what they have on offer. There will be some free ‘give-aways’ as well. The Criclewood Homeless Concern collection of non-perishable foodstuffs takes place next weekend. Work Experience Scheme. Could your workplace offer a day’s work experience for a local student from Newman Catholic College? Sarah Teather MP is working with the school to help set up the new scheme. A course in the Catechism of the Catholic Church will be given by Fr Michael Quaicoe on Mondays from 15th October to 19th November, 7:30-8:30pm, at Westminster Cathedral. All are welcome. These are public lectures which take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm commencing on the 30th October, in Westminster Cathedral Hall. Registration is required to guarantee a place. From Ocean to Ocean is a pilgrimage of the Black Madonna of Czestochowa across Europe. The icon will be on display for veneration by all who visit Westminster Cathedral from 4:00pm Monday 5th November until some time after the 5:30pm Mass which will be offered for the protection of the unborn. AFF Retreat for parish adult faith formation leaders and those involved in various parish ministries and catechesis. Saturday, 24th November from 10:00am to 3:00pm in Nazareth House, 169-175 Hammersmith Road, W6 8DB. Suggested donation is £14 to cover the costs. Dr Gerard O’Shea, Senior Lecturer at the JPII Institute of Marriage & Family, Melbourne presents ‘As I Have Loved You’, a ground-breaking resource to help parents talk to their children about sexual development, relationships and responsibilities. All are welcome, especially parents, teachers & catechists and all who support families. £5 admission. The book will be on sale during the event for £10.
